Kurortny District got an official status of a recreation area, which will allow to protect the coastal area the Gulf of Finland from commercial development.
According to G. Poltavchenko, this is the only measure that will protect the coast of the Gulf of Finland from illegal commercial housing development. The new status will allow to save forests and renovate old wooden buildings in the historical areas.
Besides, it is planned to construct health resorts by means of the local budget funding and investment resources.
